Humpty Dumpty STEM Challenge

6 October 2026 School Activities

Our Junior and Senior Infants have been busy putting their STEM skills to the test with a very special challenge inspired by the nursery rhyme Humpty Dumpty!

After reading and singing the rhyme together, we wondered: Could we build a strong and stable wall to stop Humpty Dumpty from having another great fall?

Working together in small groups, the children became engineers and builders. They explored a range of materials, experimented with different ways of building and discovered that some structures were stronger and more stable than others.

Our little engineers had great fun experimenting, working as a team and learning from their mistakes. Most importantly, they discovered that in STEM, it’s okay when something doesn’t work the first time — we can test it, change it and try again!

We think Humpty would be very impressed with their fantastic building skills! 🥚👷‍♀️👷‍♂️🧱
