Kilchreest National School celebrated Engineers Week from Monday, 2 March to Friday, 6 March 2026.
As part of the week’s activities, our Fifth and Sixth Class pupils visited the University of Galway, where they explored the Computer and Communications Museum of Ireland.
The visit gave the children an opportunity to learn about the development of computers and communications technology. They discovered how technology had changed over time and learned more about the important role that engineering, science and innovation play in everyday life.
Pupils from Third to Sixth Class also enjoyed learning more about engineering and the wide variety of careers available in the sector.
The activities helped to bring STEM learning to life and encouraged the children to remain curious, creative and interested in how things work.
